General Manager

We are seeking a General Manager at our Plymouth, IN Food Service Packaging corrugated packaging plant. The General Manager will be responsible P&L and creating an environment of accountability and efficiency. The plant has 4 shifts running 24/7 (2 day and 2 nights) with 60+ employees.  The facility is converting approximately 583 million square feet per year with b, e, and f-flute.  We are looking for a high performing manager who interacts well with both employees and customers.  The General Manager will largely have operational responsibility with quality and customer service support. The plant produces mostly pizza boxes, and clamshells. We are looking for a leader who can further develop a culture of high engagement and performance, while achieving the full potential of the operation.   Candidates with Plant Management experience in the corrugator and corrugated converting arena are encouraged to apply.  There is no "sales responsibility" in this role.   How you will impact WestRock: Our ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience managing in corrugator and converting operations. Strong experience in manufacturing process is critical.  Must be detail oriented. Responsible for creating Business Unit plan that outlines how Business Unit will meet objective of achieving overall budget or better. Directly responsible for providing leadership, mentoring, coaching and direction to direct reports, including establishing goals and being accountable for achieving those goals. Serve as the General Manager, reporting to the Area Vice President, with Profit and Loss responsibility for the plant Review and understand annual budget, forecasts, and monthly financial summaries for plant Work with Finance Manager and Area leaders to analyze sales and manufacturing issues in plant and provide creative solutions Accountable for directing the production of the plant to meet short- and long-range divisional objectives with optimum efficiency Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and managing: Production Managers, Customer Service, Logistics, and HR Admin, Safety Manager, and Quality Manager Establish working relationship and consistent communication with plant management team and other General Managers within Region Build effective alliances with other Business Units to better serve customers that cross multiple business units Committed to meeting current and future expectations and requirements of customers, and resolving customer issues that arise Ensure that Customer Service and Logistics is meeting overall service objectives Ensure production successfully meets customer requirements at lowest total cost and ensure effective delivery of services to internal and external customers with lowest total cost fulfillment Ensure goal of exceeding regional safety, productivity, labor, waste, and quality measures is being met Lead SAFE process and achieve Division and Corporate Goals through enforcement of employee accountability with regard to a safe work environment, and quality and operating efficiencies Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are in compliance with Corporate, State, and Federal Regulations Ensure goals of Performance Excellence is meeting plant and regional objectives Monitor and report results against established key performance indicators including clear weekly reporting metrics Maintain companies' assets, including building, land, equipment vehicles and other company assets   What you need to succeed:   Bachelor's Degreepreferred, Minimum 10 years of related professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.   Competencies: Decision Making Abilities: Make appropriate decisions to satisfy customer needs, take appropriate steps to implement decisions. Creativity: Bring improvement ideas to customers and WestRock plants and packaging design ideas to Corporate, develop and present innovative ideas and solutions. Initiative: Takes action, initiate projects in pursuit of greater profitability, anticipate potential problems and address them early.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
